Nico is a Research Fellow in the Department of Public Health, Environments and Society at LSHTM and a member of the Population Health Innovation Lab (PHI|Lab).

His research interests are in the contextual and socio-environmental determinants of health, particularly diet and physical activity, and in the application of statistical methods for longitudinal data analysis.

In his current project, Nico uses large disaggregated household food and beverage expenditure data to analyse the influence of policy and industry-led changes in food systems on household food and beverage consumption in the UK.

Nico holds a PhD in Social Epidemiology from LSHTM, an MSc in Applied Statistics and an MRes in Philosophy of Science. Prior to joining LSHTM, Nico worked for several years at the Belgian Scientific Institute of Public Health.
