Marko Kerac is associate professor in public health nutrition and programme director for the Nutrition for Global Health MSc at LSHTM.
He is a medical doctor by background, initially training in Paediatrics and subsequently completing academic and specialty training in Public Health at University College London / in the London Deanery.
His main research focuses on severe malnutrition in infants and children and on long term outcomes following that – including stunting and stunting-associated risks/functional deficits.
More recent projects have also been exploring adolescence: a potential key ‘second window of opportunity’ to improve growth and development following early life adversity. Interventions to improve outcomes for all these groups require multi-disciplinary approaches – hence a keen interest to learn from and collaborate with others in LCIRAH.
