Centre for Food Policy
Lindy Sharpe is a post-doctoral research fellow at the Food Research Collaboration (FRC), based at the Centre for Food Policy, City, University of London.
The FRC aims to link academics with civil society groups where there is common interest in improving the sustainability of the UK food system or promoting integrated policy to tackle food system challenges.
Activities cover Brexit impacts, local food infrastructure, and improving the healthy food offer in convenience stores.
In the past, her research has looked at the social sustainability of food systems, taking in aspects such as equity, labour, participation and health.
She has worked as a research assistant at the Centre for Food Policy, as a researcher at the New Economics Foundation, as a food poverty project officer at the campaign group Sustain, and formerly worked as a journalist and editor in England and Canada. She is a trustee of the Brighton-based non-profit Food Matters, which works to improve local food systems and diet-related health.
