Department of Global Health and Development
Helen is an Associate Professor in the Department of Global Health and Development at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
Her academic background is in public health and epidemiology, and she uses mixed methods approaches to understanding the impact of and address through governance and policy the structural determinants of population health, including a research focus on food systems and nutrition.
Helen has worked in public health in New Zealand, both regionally and with the New Zealand Ministry of Health, and also in Geneva with the World Health Organization. She is a Research Associate of the University of the Witwatersrand, and an Honorary Senior Fellow of the University of Melbourne.
