Fiorella is an applied economist and Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Reading. Her work is positioned at the intersection of agriculture, economics of food and nutrition in the Global South.
Her current work focuses on the development of methodological frameworks to include human energy expenditure and gendered time-use in food and nutrition security analysis; questions on nutritional challenges among adolescents in India and Nepal; and clean cocoa production and value chains in Indonesia.
Fiorella has recently completed her PhD at SOAS (Centre for Environment, Development and Policy) with a thesis on the effects of food price volatility on food and nutrition security in Mozambique and Bangladesh. Before joining SOAS, she worked for the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN as junior grains market analyst.
Fiorella has a BSc in International Development (University of Pavia, Italy) and an MSc in Development Economics (University of Florence, Italy).
