Elisabetta is an economist with a focus on global food security, child and adolescent development, and social protection. Her work is highly multidisciplinary and aims at tackling key policy issues in the context of low and middle-income countries.

She is currently focusing on the impact of climate shocks, household food insecurity and life course health, nutrition and education trajectories in India; home-grown school feeding in Ghana; food aid and school feeding during conflict in Mali; and multiple questions related to child and adolescent nutrition in Ethiopia, India, Peru and Vietnam, including the intergenerational transmission of malnutrition.
