Cristina is a veterinary epidemiologist particularly keen to research the linkage between humans, livestock, wildlife and the environment.

She is currently working with the University of Nairobi on the development of statistical and economic models that aim to improve our understanding of challenges, ​as well as the use and value of critical resources in small ruminants’ pastoralists in Kenya.

Furthermore, she is ​also collaborating ​on the development of ​a ​strategy ​on the training of veterinary para-professiona​l​s on transboundary animal diseases​, with a greater focus on Asian and African settings.
