Speaker: Steve Wiggins (Overseas Development Institute)


Biography: Steve Wiggins is an agricultural economist with more than 35 years of experience of teaching and research on agricultural and rural development. Formerly at the University of Reading, since 2002 he has been a research fellow at the Overseas Development Institute, London. With considerable experience of Africa and Latin America, his interests centre on rural livelihoods, agricultural development, poverty, and food and nutrition security. In recent years he has been particularly concerned with the causes and impacts of the 2007/08 spike in international cereals prices.
